a suited Amplimo power supply trafo would cost about the same

but the Dutch shipping...could be serious money ? (these are looking heavy)

roughly, 200EUR is 160 GBP
shipping could be like 50 EUR, maybe
that would be 200 GBP spent on trafos

to compare, cheap Brittish trafos would cost around 50 GBP, each

btw, on my part, shipping from Poland or Germany is cheaper
even HongKong sometimes cost the same as local shipping

that said, Edcor midbudget small SE trafos are so cheap it could be the best choice of all, cost wise, shipping included

maybe this one would be great, 15watt SE, 3.5K to 4ohm ...well suited for EL34 SE ? (please note question mark )

But this is expensive as i will probably get hit with import tax somaybe i should build something cheap and simple with parts i can get from uk !

I'm not sure if this has been suggested yet, I didn't read through the thread, sorry.

As a first tube amp, the Simple SE from Tubelab would be a great place to start.

He also has a forum here in the Vendor's section. Very well supported, lots and lots of successful builds.

It's just the circuit board which I'm sure would be relatively inexpensive regarding import duty. You source all the parts locally.

I should have mentioned Tubelab also offers a Simple Push Pull board, for more output power.
