Hello Everyone,
Any suggestions on the thought of using a 12AY7 preamp tube instead of the 12AX7 originally included in the schematic? I've gotten to the point where I can figure out the values for the load resistor and the cathode resistor from the curves but I'm not sure how this circuit works exactly? The schematic is figure 3 on page 4 of the Dynaco transformer catalog which is too large to upload. The 12AY7 has a lower MU but more amperage. And from my research is closer to the kind of sound I want from this amp. Thanks for any help you could povide, kevin |
