Default Any Cheap Tube-amp kits out there

I am looking for a cheap tube-amp to expirament. It will be used to drive seas millenium tweeters (6 ohm) as part of an active XO, used at 2200Hz and above, so it does not need to have high output power.

how built something along the lines of the el34 or a 2a3 at my website
power for el34 would be more than 2a3 though
but el34 cost would be much cheaper as a begineers amp. IDHP are cheaper to implement, hum from heater is no a common thing.
of course you could run the el34 into pentode or ultralinear but i don't recommend it for tweeter action.
I would personnaly recommend se, as tweeters don't require much power hence triode are the way to go
mail me if you like to ask something or work something out
i have not work out the cost yet however

I have built the K-502 MikeT suggested and it is a very nice little amp for the money. It lends itself well to modifing. Some good parts make this simple design sound very good. Is it the be all end all amp of the world, no, but it is a nice amp.

What ever makes the tunes flow

Thanks for all of the replies guys, I will look into building one of these and seeing how I like it. It never really is a problem to have spare amplifiers laying around is it?

HDTV man, where in chicago do you live?

I will be moving to Lake Bluff in 3 weeks.

Pete Millett has a lot of info on low power amps

Simplest I've seen is the 6EM7

Have a very close look at:
World Audio Design

Look at their KEL84 or the Kecl82.
