Default Newbie needs help

Hey guys I just have one quick question about my yaqin ms 20l amp and how i have it set up. Right now i am using a pure I20 dock running to a dacmagic and then to amp. I also have my turntable running to a cambridge audio phono preamp. My question is the dac has a output of 4 volts and i believe the phono amp is 5 volts, yesterday while searching around on how to improve the sound i found out my amp should have a input of .25volts. Is .25 volts the min i need or do i have to drop the signal voltage some how? If i do have to drop signal i have no clue on how to do it. Also i have been running it this way for 2 months could i have damaged anything? Thanks Dennis

0.25V is the signal needed to provide full output. You have more than that, so the issue then becomes whether you have too much. That depends on exactly how the Yaqin does its volume control. However, if it sounds OK with no obvious limiting or distortion on music peaks then it is OK.
