Default Hickok TV-7 D/U calibration

I'm restoring a Hickok TV-7 D/U for the first time and started to read all articles on the web and read some books. The goal is to put all together and make a good reference for everyone. If you have experiance or information you would like to share let me know, so far i have written all details here TV-7 D/U | Vacuum Tube Testers

Tubes are great!

Thank you for the posting. I have a TV7DU I bought 10-12
yrs. ago from Fair Radio Sales. Condition listed was Used/Checked.
Looks like I now have a new line cord(3 wire), a TV7BU meter,
and a shiny paint job. No major surgery evident inside.
I want to start reducing the pile of tubes I have collected, so
I decided to check the "checker".
Went online and downloaded the military manuals and read
some articles. One guy said calibration can't be done with a DMM,
another mentioned the meter impedance issue, but didn't get too
deep. Your article explained everything very well, but I have
some questions.
What setting should the Function switch be on when doing
various voltage checks? Or does it only deal with the range of
the meter's readings?
Is one supposed to leave the plate load resistor in place when
doing the grid(s) test(s)? The manual is a bit vague on when to
remove it.
Thank You,
Tvan56

Sorry for the late answer, will update the manual soon. About the function switch leave it on Range A, except if the manual say anything different.
