Unless you are sure any source you use cannot output any DC then an input cap in your tube amp would be helpful. Don't be frightened of capacitors; they don't bite! (Well, actually, they can bite but only if you stick your finger in their mouth just after they have been fed.)
There are differing views on the effects of capacitors on low level signal integrity but here we are talking about the ouput from an Ipod........Yes, well, as we know capacitors have nasty properties wrt signal integrity. Unfortunately one can't do without 'm. If no spectrum analyser is present one must trust ones ears for judging how offending they are. Not?
