Hi,
I'm a bit of a noob, but always wanted try some valve equipment. I bought a used kit for an LS8 pre amp, which I'm told is an Audio Resarch LS8 clone, but think that used different tubes? I've seen the same circuit board referenced on the web as a Marantz 7 circuit. The board uses four tubes, all 12AT7 My question is: could I use this to replace the output stage from a DAC, specifically a Squeeze box which uses Wolfson WM8501 DAC with 1.7V output? If so what would be the best way to implement it? And would I need to modify circuit? Can you take a signal direct from DAC chip output legs L & R? I can attenuate volume digitally in the Squeezebox or with a volume control that came with this? Not sure what the total gain from this stage would be. Hope someone can advise... |
