WF tube

Does anyone know about the qualtity of German WF tuble ?

WF was a tube manufacturer in the former German unDemocratic Republic, seated at Berlin East. Tubes from this factory seem to have good reputations.

Thanks for Kay's information. I think it's the same case as 35mm SLR camera the "Pentacon" in East Germany.

RFT and WF (DDR) are copies of Philips, Siemens or Tesla (JJ) tubes.
I have a east german 1956 tape recorder built with ECC83 from 1952 (3?) and still working.

most of the tall and skinny EL34 tubes are RFT made . even whit Telefunken on them these still go for serious money .

the EHX el34 is said to be a copy of the RFT EL34

WF and RFT are common names for the same tube. almost all german manufacturers have rebranded their product as their own at some point.

They had a Philips License for the EL34, Siemens bought 90% of their EL34 from
EastGermany and I dont think they needed to copy Tesla tubes.

they actually had their own series of weird tubes

a miniaturization idea that never really took off. noval 7 and 9 where the standard on both sides of the curtain .
