Hi Guys
Slightly off topic, since we're on the subject of hum reduction,
may I ask whats the best way to orientate or position the
transformer & chokes if space is limited

Thanks guys

The best way is to put their respective magnetic axis at 90 between them. This is true if no more than 3 cores are in the set, if 4 or more, then you will need careful cut and try, and shielding.

It is called the "head phone trick" Apply AC power to the power transformer. You might want to use a dummy load on the secondary size so some reasonable current flows.

Then connect headphones to the audio transformer. Move the auto transformer around and rotate it until the hum is minimized. If you have an oscilloscope you can use that in place of headphones.

Basically the answer is that coupling can be measured with simple tools. Measure it can experiment. But measure it on top of the actual chassis. Try a sheet steel "wall" divider and try grounding any internal shielding in the transformers.

Typically you and up placing audio and power transformers as far apart as you can with one rotated 90 to 45 degrees relative to the other. But measure to verify
