The Timbre Post brought up my curiosity. The description of the SEL Winged C, EL-34 tube.
"The mids are smooth and the top end shimmers. Nice swirling harmonic content." Winged "C" (SED) EL34 The top end shimmers, Swirling harmonics, is there a way to describe these, that a person can grasp? I'll say THANKS now,,,,,,les |

The description is with reference to how the tube sounds (distorts) when pushed hard in guitar amplifiers. Not a useful description when talking about a hifi amplifier.
