I just picked up a mono Eico HF-65 last night with mullard tubes. I am searching for the schematic and hope that someone here can help.
I am going to have to recap the entire thing as it uses the "black beauty" caps and some very ratty looking ceramics. Some of the wiring will need to be replaced and all of the solder joints gone over. I am looking to rebuild this completely. Other items picked up were a Webster-Chicago 210 reel to reel, a Wollensak reel to reel, a Garrard RC80, and an old Hallicrafters shortwave receiver. Going to have tons of fun restoring this stuff I plan on using the Eico with the Garrard and building a monoblock amp for mono (78's, etc..).

Must have been searching on the wrong thing. Thanks much for the link.
Mine seems to be different from the schematic. I don't have a built in power supply, but it has a cable with a male octal connector which I am guessing is to supply power from the amp or maybe a separate power supply. |

Maybe the power supply in the upper right is actually on the amplifier.

It would seem that the power is derived from the HF-14 amp. I found the schematics for the amp, however since it was a kit somewhat like Heathkit, it doesn't give voltage values. Only "brown wire here, red wire there, etc...".
Does anyone know the voltages that are supposed to be supplied to the unit? I can build a supply if I know what they are. |

Actually just found it.....
In the HF-14 manual it states: 6.3v @ 1amp pins 1&2 350v @ 10ma pin 4 Ground pin 3 These are pins on the octal plug going from the amp to the preamp for power. Last edited by lexx21; 20th April 2012 at 05:31 PM. |
