Replace all electrolytic capacitors.

The tone controls definitely have to go. Eliminate C5/R6 (treble) and C6/R12 (bass).

Simplify the circuitry to yield a pair of "standard" line level I/Ps suitable for use with CDPs and mag. phono preamps. Piezoelectric phono carts. are passe. Eliminate C1 and R1. Make R2 (the volume control) a 100 KOhm log. taper part. Make C2 0.0068 μF. and R2 1 MOhm metal film.
