Oh yea, I forgot my DI box project where I used phantom to power the tube. used a resistor-led tied off from phantom and put the heater across the led. My output circuit was SE, 12K output impedance, 1.3mA

Interesting DavesNotHere,

I tried battery power and found the current source to be as quiet (at least in measurement). I will probably give it another try when I do the listening tests.

Right now I'm running 30V B+, but I tried 60V and got basically the same results (maybe in part due to this being a LTP with a current source in the tail)?
