I've been playing with these three tubes and would like to know who uses which and why. So far I find that the 6fq7 sounds best in my KT88 SE amp. It is the most extended and quietest. The 6n23 has more hum than the 6dj8 but the have the same tonal qualities. Are there any others I should try?

6n23 and 6DJ8 are essentially the same valve. 6FQ7 is different, but just happens to have the same pinout. I would use the one intended by the designer of your amplifier.
