Wow, $250 - $300? I built a pretty simple SE 2A3, and it cost me about $500. And some of your parts look better quality than what I used
All the best with your business. It would be great to see good quality kits at these prices. |

I'm also interested in the transformers. Do you have any specs on them? If they are better than the Hammond 125ESEs and reasonably priced they would be a good seller.

Dear all.
Thanks for the comment of the planning kits. I only had some information for the OPT. I was special wound in China. I choose 4K for primary. 0~4~8~16. 100ma. The OPT was winding by my information Obtain for japan"s OPT Factory for no. of layer & size( AWG) of conductor. I hope this can gurantee the band width can satify for more people. Hope Good Price/Cost Ratio. Band width is still under testing, I will keep forward to post. I still choose the material for the chassis. May be will choose Stainess steel or aluminum with iron. The basic price is around USD 250~300. I think My selling price will below USD 350 depends the chassis material & some items will change to higher grade. The circuit I will provide JE labs or sun audio which depends for the buyer. I count for the postage to USA is around USD 60~70 EMS charge. So all I think I can maintain within USD 400~420 arrived buyers hand. Any comment. This factory can offer the interstage 1:2 or 1:2 5K, 7K or 10K in same time depaend my order. Its only charge USD 30~35 per one. Depends for the size. any further comment for my planning kits. I had very small amount marginal profit because I hope more Diyer can enjoy it. P.S. May be I will choose this muiti purpose chassis for my last decision. Then ----------- really DIY OF COURSE. Because not need to waste the old chassis & can build another amp. 4K OPT can USE PX25, PX4, 300B 2A3 etc. thanks thomas www.diyaudiocraft.com |

yes, we should make low-cost, great sounding amps.
our group in the philippines started releasing this kit to local users, for only P10,000 pesos. That's roughly USD200, complete with tubes and 2mm steel chassis with black powder coat. the circuit is our own design, direct coupled 2A3. http://www.photos.ph/arnoldc/10k <- for some photos. i'm not thread jacking, i just wanted to share the same objective as thomas. |

dear arnoldc
Really good price for the kits. Is USD will follow with all components? I only oder my custom made from china. If I oder the standard factory made. The price can cheaper. But If I order my custom OPT. It will 20~25 % higher. But I was compare for all my OPT in my hand. Certainly the performance is not better than the famous OPT. But good P/C ratio. And the hearing test is pass. thanks thomas www.diyaudiocraft.com Pls see the photos, I always hearing test with different OPT & compare. I hoper to keep the kits OPT in a good standard. |
