Hey Guys,
Im Looking to build this Preamp "The Classic One" From Triode Dicks Webpage, It seemed to me that there was something missing from the scematics IE: Some of the resistors are not even labled to what wattage rating they should be, or what type. Is P3 Log Or Linear? On the power supple schematic there is a transformer winding at the bottom that is there, but doesnt seem to be connected to anything? Is it even used? Is there anything else ive missed? Its probably all obvious to a more experienced eye, but id rather be over carefull than ignorant Thanks for your help |

P3 is a log pot. The apparently unused winding powers another identical filament regulator for the other channel.

There is enough information there to calculate the dissipation in each resistor. Then just pick a bigger resistor. 0.5W or 1W will do. Type does not matter too much.
The first stage is actually an active load circuit, but drawn to look like an SRPP - presumably for reasons of fashion. An SRPP with no load (a CF is effectively no load) is identical to an active load. Voltage gain will be half mu, so probably too much for a line stage. |

Im going to use it as a preamp for a Set of Mosfet (Enhanced) Mono Blocks, Ill need 15v Effective or more to drive them.

Thats what baffled me, because these plans are for one channel each, if you see the PDF file of the build on his webage, he has two power transformers, one for each channel. Id assume he would use the other windings from the other transformer, as opposed to taking from this one? |
