Question opera consonance phonostage-PM1

Hi , i am totally new to the tube side of the world ie high voltage and nasty shocks.
I am asking for suggestions what to do to improve the phonostage. The circuit is based on one ECC83 triode per chanel. The excerpt stated that RIAA equalisations work as active, frequency dependent feedback between amplifier output and the cathode of the first valve.
In stock form- i would say -flat and lifeless. I did change the tubes for RCA but little improvement and change the bypass capacitor at output with Mundorf cap. I have no schematic on hand. I am thinking about changing a few parts on power supply ,but no idea what to do next.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Quan.

Build a new one. I'm not being flippant, single-tube ECC83 stages are hugely compromised. I don't knows yours, but every other one I've ever seen uses one of two circuits, both of which were designed and suitable for cheap console stereos in the 1950s and 60s. The sad reality is that it takes a minimum of two tubes (3-4 sections) per channel to get a decent RIAA stage.

Thank you, yes i have thought about it. I just feel it is probably out of my depth at this stage to build one. Obviously kit set would be the way to go as well as learning. By the way i always thought less is better.
