I have a bunch of 6dj8, as well as 10yr worth of amassing random tube hi-fi bits and pieces. Are there any good phono preamp projects out there that anyone can suggest?

Phonoclone - 6DJ8 This one seems pretty solid and simple. I started on it a while back and actually made a PCB for it but ended up abandoning it for some reason that I can not remember.
I have been also thinking of a good tube phono preamp to build and my revisit this one or maybe look at one of Broskies boards...been reading up on the all-in -one Tetra... |

Look at Morgan Jones's "Practical Preamp" in his book "Valve Amplifiers" 3rd Edition. At the cost of some gain and noise, you could change the first stage of the His Master's Noise preamp to 6DJ8- the second stage and output buffer are already 6DJ8.

I have been looking at the RJM audio, It needs a CF, but that's fairly easy to add.
The Tetra is also interesting, but the PCB is not available. His master's noise is extremely attractive, my only question is where to source the input tube?

They're all over EBay. I bought mine from Frag Jan Zuerst, whom I can recommend highly.

Broskie put a new post up on his blog and eluded that pcbs will be ready to ship soon.
I am envisioning an all in one tetra in a nice 2U chassis. Looks like the allied electronics 6K88VG will just fit a 2U and make a nice tidy package... Of course the full on aikido phono with the regulated PS-1 would also be the cats pj's... |

Check out the DIYTube Budgie. I built one and compared to a friends Marantz 7C and we both liked the sound of the Budgie better. DIYTube.com. Shannon makes a great product and really supports his projects well. Many on the forum are really helpful also. I think the support makes this project an even better value plus it can be built for well under $200
