Hey guys.
First time posting here, but i've been coming to this site for years for info. Over the last few months i've collected a bunch of tubes, and would like to make some amps with them, also i have some that i will gladly post to anyone who wants them, for free! (australia only, international and you'll have to pay shipping). Here's what i have: Mazda 12AX7 x1 Mazda ECL86 x1 *Mazda EM87 x1 Telefunken ECC83 x2 Telefunken EL95 x2 Matsushita 50EH5 x2 *Philips Miniwatt 6BD7 x1 *Philips Miniwatt 6AN7 x1 *Philips Miniwatt 6A8G x1 *Miniwatt 6AN7A x1 *Miniwatt 6N8 x1 Miniwatt 12AX7 x1 Miniwatt 6CA4 x1 Miniwatt 6GW8 x4 *Radiotron 6U7G x1 Radiotron 6L5G x1 The tubes marked with a * are up for grabs! Also, i can post pictures if there's something that interests you. The next thing is, what kind of stuff could i make with what i have? can you guys recommend me some designs? I'd really like to make a headphone amp, guitar preamp, phono preamp, and a small stereo amp. thanks!! |

6GW8 is ECL86, so you have five of these. OK for low power SE or use in pairs for push-pull. The triode in these is the same as half an ECC83, so you can use these as a voltage amp or phase splitter. Google for Mullard designs.

And all these 12AX7s and ECC83 (they are the same tube) can be used for the phono preamp and the guitar preamp.
just be aware that the tubes are about the cheapest part of an amplifier. Decent transformers, passive components, chassis, sockets are all needed as well to make something nice and safe.
