I got this tuner in the 70’s but stopped using it because of poor performance have decided to restore it. Have read several articles on restoration but not much on the if stage. I would like to replace all the cap’s and resistors but don’t wont to mess with the factory 10.7 Mhz setting. should I avoid the T1 area I notes that one of the slugs on T4 is not adjusted should that area be avoided?

Changing caps and resistors (why?) in the RF/IF stages can result in a need for realignment. If you have the knowledge and equipment to do this then fine. Otherwise, only replace those components found to be faulty. If possible, replace with similar components mounted in exactly the same place. Don't adjust anything unless you know exactly what it does. RF is not as easy as audio.

Thanks for your response DF96 All of the adjustment can be easily done except one stage that is factory set with a vtvm and the manual instruction did it and check it with the proper equipment when I first got it

Sorry...Yes, I used all new components, and the unit surely needed to be realigned. If you have some scope skills and a basic freq generator it is a simple task. Just be sure to use the right alignment tools (eg - non-inductive plastic).
