Default Best design for Lundahl LL1679/PP

Hi
I am looking for good design to utilize spare Lundahl opt's LL1679/PP , I can choose between secondaries impedance 2k6 - 4k5 - 9k7.
Thank for any advice
PS.: everything apart of EL34PP which I have already built , preferably 300B

Kevin Kennedy a member on this site has this amp which should work with your OPT's.

Possibly use one PS trans of double the amperage rating or more for all windings, then split off each from each lead to each amp on the same chassis. Should get great separation that way, and still a great solid PS.

Nice transformers! To me the only question is how many watts you want and how much you want to spend..

Instead of expensive 300B, how about 6AV5's in triode mode driven by 6BL7's using 12sn7 phase splitter?

Of course my preference would be to use the above tubes in single ended design , but those are really such nice PP OPT's... maybe you want to sell them???

You should think about the power supply as well. I like to use use television damper diodes, chokes and motor run capacitors.

Hi soulmerchant
Power is not an issue , everything between 20-50 Watts.
300B was my first thought as this is such a common tube and I have read lot of good reviews.
Sorry I won't be selling those , 6AV5 would be interesting, do you have any particular design using those tubes on hand?
Best Regards

You could try any design for 6b4 or 6a3 or ... 2a3 that is highly rated. But use 6AV5 in triode. You won't get 20 watts though - Maybe 8 watts depending on the output transformer you are using. But oh those are very NICE sounding watts.

Default Decision has been made

Hi
Finally I decided, it's going to be Andrea Ciuffoli Parallel PP based around EL34 (yet again).
Here is the link:
PP2010 - Hi-End Push Pull Amplifier
I don't like His approach to PSU , what would be the best for Push/Pull amplifier?
I am thinking CLC filter to B+ , then RC to driver and phase splitter.
But I am not entirely sure what values of components shall I use .Too big value of input capacitor doesn't do any good to power transformer - huge charging spikes .Can you point me to some good Push/Pull PSU literature.

Default It's so hard to make right decision

Hi
I have ordered chassis , PCB for the project , pair of 8H-350mA chokes, main transformer 2x340V plus 100V and heaters supply , and started having doubts if I have made right decision. As I have already tried El34 in PP , I wonder if it makes any sense to built another amp based around same tube , so I read some stuff about other PP options and KT88 make me to think to change object of my interest .More I think more confused I become .Please help me , what would you choose :

PP2010_sch6b.gif

or something based on KT88, as simple as that:

HK10_ORIG_SCH.jpg

What I am listening to? Pretty much everything : classical ,jazz, pop, rock, metal
which tube is more universal?

Any comments on HK10 schematic ?
PSU looks horrible , but what about amplifier .paralleled 12U7 is my main concern.
