Default Where did all the money go?

So I got a tempting offer, some thirty 6EJ7s and a bunch of 4HM5s. I couldn't resist and spent this months reserve on those precious glow-bottles! So how to explain to the BIG BOSS (the once blond, busty, and sympathetic wife) that those bills have to wait till next payday?
Oh well, that life eh?
As for my worries? Are these NOS tubes any better than the new Sovteks? Either way I am looking forward to building their new home. (Tho I may end up without one...)
Hmmmm, what am I babling about? Guess I just need moral support. I mean, no one else understands.

Tell her they were an investment. Nobody is making them anymore so prices will have to rise

Yeah that's a funny one. TerryO sent it to me the other day. I sent it to a few Audiophile wives, including mine. I'm sure they felt a kindred spirit.

I always use the argument that I do valve audio instead of making Motorcycles or Old Cars a hobby. Seems to work. I have an uncle with a yard full of old cars in various stages of decomposition....

Also - try selling some audio things (tonearm, pick-up, record player, speakers, ceedees, etc) whatever you have lying around that might be worth something and you don't have plans for - to cover the expense... and put the cash in HER hand.
