Default Clear out of old valves - advice needed

I'm having a massive clear-out (before I drown in my hi-fi stuff). I've got a big box of valves that somebody gave me some years ago. I believe that they came from a guy who repaired TV's/radios.

Some of the numbers that I can read are:

PCL84/86
DY86/87
DK91/92
DY 86/87
CCH81
UCC85
EF80/85
ECC80/81/82/83
UB41
EH90
EF85/86/184
30FL21
EZ41
UY85
EM84

Is anything there worth keeping for hi-fi purposes. If not should I just dump the lot, or try and find somebody who may find a use for them?

The ECC8x and EF86 might be worth something, depends on what they are and condition. The rest are mainly TV and radio valves. Not worth a huge amount but as these are no longer being made I'm sure someone will be happy to have them. Put them on ebay, with clear pictures so people can judge the condition, and sensible starting prices and postage. Expect to get no more than £1 each for most of them, but at least they won't be wasted.

ECC80/81/82/83 are the ones that will bring in money, and if they are good condition mullard they will bring in a lot of money - can't see much interest in the rest. I'd write out exactly what ECC80/81/82/83 you have with the maker and condition and put an ad in the selling part of this site - called swapmeet or something, I forget. In fact, since you've started this thread, list all these in detail here.

EM84 is a "magic eye" tube,if it's in good condition it should fetch a few bucks.
(IIRC,it was used in the Dynaco FM tuners.)

Thanks guys. I'll take some more time to list out exactly what I have. Ebay sounds like a good option too.

I suppose they have to be tested properly to be of real value

Agreed. I'll sell them as un-tested. I'm not looking to make make money so much as see that they are not wasted.

You don't need to say anything about most of them, except how many there are. You just need to list the ECC80-83 types with maker and whether they are in their original boxes or loose. Where are you in the UK - that might help in terms of collection.

and maybe the PCL84/86

I don't know if its possible to say whether they are new or used
maybe if TV repair tubes they could have been in and out of use any number of times, fore testing
but I don't know about that
