Can you please explain the meaing of the springs ?
How does it impact the correct functionality of the tube? I know there are many tube with "moving parts" that working perfectly- I'd like to know if this is the case. |

It means that the filament is broken and the tube is usless. This often happens in shipping because many sellers have no clue how to pack and protect this from happening. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The springs act as tension devices and supports for the filaments as they heat and change lenght.

regardless of the meaning, a moving piece of metal inside a glass envelope that is handling high voltage is never a good thing.
Send it back.

I'm sure you could just solder that spring back on there.

Any moving parts loose inside the tube means the tube is broken. Worse than broken, the loose parts might short out a pair of pins and damage the amp.
"NOS" means the part might be 50 or more years old. You should not be surprised to find defects in 50 year old parts now and then. |

well... Wish there's a place or person that able to fix such fault.... It's very rare to find such tube these days and throwing it to grabbage ![]() I contact the seller for the issue - he explain the paid for insurance shipping, but I'm not really famliar claiming my money back - never done that and i never got any broken tube. it's a lot of money to risk - i hope i'll get my money back
