Post COnn Organ Amp DI266 Info 12v6GT tubes

I have this Conn organ amp with a stamp on top - DI266. THe tube chart on the side says part# 59050-2.

It uses 12v6GT tubes and looks like it would be a great guitar amp. There is a tremelo and expression pedal, which I assume is a volume pedal.

I would be extremely grateful for any info anybody has on this amp.

Look at this schematic of a Conn organ : http://i54.tinypic.com/2m67od5.jpg

I think the tremolo of those amplifiers use two of the 12V6 with a 12AU7 driver and work only with electrodynamic 5 1/4" loudspeakers ... The other two 12V6 are use in the push-pull power amplifier with a 12AX7 driver and probably the 12AV6 as preamp ... The 5U4 of course is the rectifier !

This amplifier should have a power near 14 watts but I am not sure you can use the tremolo if you don't use the original electrodynamic loudspeakers ... And there must be not enough gain for a guitar amplifier, but if the tremolo can't work, you can remove the unused parts of the circuit and use the empty tube sockets to add a good preamp suitable for guitar ...

This is not very difficult to do if have some basic knowledges in tubes electronics, I suggest you to "backengineering" the circuit and make the schematic yourself to know what you have exactly because the original schematic of this amplifier can be impossible to find !

You just need to be little patient and examin methodically the circuit to reproduce the schematic with the help of the tubes pinouts from their datasheets. Comparing with the schematic I give you the link can also help you to do this task. You can do that in a little afternoon ...

Cheers,

Alain.
