The are the cases for my future 6c33 monoblocks. I will have two pairs and my plan is to sell them. I will need a few honest opinions about the design, and also i will need a few opinions redarding the pricing....
-The OPT are custom wounded by the best winder in my country. -Solid birch wood -Powder coating for the metal parts -Teflon coupling caps -Schematic based on borbely's schematic(glass audio) I have invested alot of time and all my money (im just a 23 years old student) in this project. Hope i can get the most out of it . If everything works out i will start to produce a cheap SET kit based on 6h13 tubes (chinese prices, european quality). Here are a few photos. I am still waiting for someof the parts to be made, but i will update the thread as often as i can. |

Very nice, excellent casework!
Question: What sockets do you use for the 6c33? Russian surplus or Chinese? |

The sockets that i now have, are chinese, but i hope i will get my hands on some russians before the final assambly. If not, I will find a way to make them better (gold plating maybe). I want them to last 100 years ).

Price would depend a lot on how good the amp actually sounds. A schematic would give some indications.

Keep an eye on the clamps for the heaters because they get a high amount of current and those chinese sockets aren't really up to it.

Well. I was planning to buy a larger stock of russian tubes and sockets (GM70, 6C33 and 6H13, and sockets for them) but i have to focus my money on finishing the first pair.
Can someone send my a pair of russians? (girls or sockets). Ebay takes to much time.... |

Don't have any to spare, sorry.
The chinese sockets are fine, it's just that the contact for the heater pins isn't that great and subject to high resistance, sparking and burning up eventually. Run your 6c33 heaters in series instead of parallel, this doubles the voltage needed but halves the current so it alleviates some of the problems the chinese sockets have.
