Hi
Anyoune tried the pentode part of ecf82 instead of ef86? just found one ecf82 in the drawer. I saw it is used for tremolo oscilator in vox ac10, but I am actually looking for the sound of the ef86 channel. (ac15 heritage) I built the latter with an ef85 pentode, it has a deep bass, mild and vibrating tone, but all the highs.. are gone. It sounds just.. natural. No compression and attack on the highs I even better like it in triode mode - natural sound. A good overdrive in the low to mid range (pentode), but no sparkle ): |

ef85 isnt realy a usefull device as its made as a automatic controll . once the signal gets strong it compresses the signal .
ecf82s where used in TV's would be brave to try it . but it can also be used as a phase splitter New Phase Splitter im looking forward to hearing what you discover as i have a box of about 50 of them |
