I recently purchased this Soundstage line amp. It has vacuum two as a model? It has 2) 6922 tubes in it and seems to put out unity gain. I can't seem to find anything on the web about it. Any information would be appreciated.

Trace the circuit. I wouldn't doubt it if it's like that common 5687 gainstage, or maybe a CF instead (but then you'd notice <unity gain).

Hi,
Joe, On the last pic you posted I think I see HK on the label. HK is a postal code for Hong Kong. Vacuum Hybrid Booster sounds Asian marketing to me as well... If the thing is yours, open it and try to figure out the hybrid part. It surprises me, given the above, that it has no gain though. Cheers,

Yup this thing is mine. I took a look inside despite comments from the wife. "Do you have to take everything you buy apart?" With 1 volt input it managed 1.1 volt out. I figure thats close enough for unity on a saturday afternoon. Are there any mosfets inside? No, nothing out of the ordinary except there is only one transformer tap. There is a regulated supply also. How does it sound? Well, it seems to have good bass and high frequency response. I feel the midrange is somewhat lacking. I believe I need several more beers and more listening time to tell. The only marking on the caps seem to be US and several from France. Joe |

Where did you get it?
I would think the seller would be able to provide some information, but then, possibly not. It looks like you got a fairly complete package though--anything in the user guide to point you to a website, or describe the circuit? |

The seller wasn't able to provide ANY information on this item. He was my first contact by the way. I haven't been able to find a website either. Therefore I have turned to my fellow tubeites for help. Joe |
