I gather that IDHT tubes generally are better served with AC than with DC, especially drivers.
Can anyone explain why the Welborne Moondog 2A3 amp has DC on their 6SN7 gain & driver tubes? If the gain & driver tubes are switched to AC, are humpots recommended? I suspect the drivers wouldn't gain any benefit from humpots, but I'd like to make sure. |

I don't think AC is better, just that DC has no advantage given good wiring and good valves. The snags with DC are more complication and the slight risk of more rectifier hash getting into signal circuits.
