Default newbie needs help with tube inheritance

I have inherited some tubes and would like some advice. I have some NIB NOS Brimar ECC807 and Gold Aero 12AX7A and Gold Aero 6AS7G. Plus many more.
I told a friend that knows a little bit about tubes that I sold some Brimar ECC807's for $10 to this person who told me that most tubes were worth $5 to $10. my friend quickly informed me that some tubes were rare and sought after. He said I need to get some advice from a professional and I need to get them tested and matched.
That was awhile ago I have since learned more about tubes by reading this forum and links to other websites. What I can not locate is someone to help me test them. I am more than willing to pay a fair price, but I can not seem to locate anyone. I have submitted several emails to people mentioned on local websites that are in the business, but I have yet to receive a single reply.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your time
Louie

Hello Louig - and Welcome to diyAudio!!!

Once upon a time in another life I lived in Sacto - hmmm '73 thru 2006 - and did electronic repair out at McClellan AFB when it was still open.

I suggest that you check with some of the local HAM radio operators. Those kids use a buncha tubes and usually someone knows someone that has a tube tester.

Hope that helps!

Louie,
The ECC807 Brimars are "rare as rocking horse manure". I sold a pair on epay about 3 weeks back and they went for around US$90 the pair. I was a little disapointed in that, I though they should fetch a bit more. I would not be letting them (the ECC807) go for less than US$40 each. The 12AX7A and 6AS7G are less valuable.
Hope that helps you a little.
Cheers,
Ian
