Default Tube shops/supplies in Brisbane/Gold Coast

Will be visiting Australia for a week to Gold Coast / Brisbane area.

Any suggestions for shops/flea markets for tube stuff and supplies in the area worth a visit? NOS, used, etc... looking for mostly "budget" stuff.

Thank you.

You won't find much of what you are looking for in Queensland. I have 2 retailers listed at Directory of Australian Valve Suppliers

I dare say that what is on offer in the US will be cheaper than what could be found in Australia, especially with the AUD being currently so high against the USD. There might be something on the Jaycar or Altronics web sites, the 2 biggest component electronics retail chain stores in Australia, see links below. Australia has 230V 50Hz mains, so check for 115V 60Hz compatibility. I believe Rigol makes a good cheap digital oscilloscope, not sure where you would get one from.

A bit of a Google and I came up with
Valve Radio Repairers

and what looks more like what you want
Electronic Valve and Tube Company

Occasionally I go back to BNE to visit friends so could you let us know how these links turn out.

I guess, any scope is better than no scope at all.

I personally am absolutely satisfied by good old Hitachi V-555. Not the best, but good enough for my experiments.

Also, some functional generator is good to have. I have a couple of Wavetek 154, it is more than enough for me.

The Rigol DS1052E is a reasonabley cheap (< $400 USD if you shop around) entry level 50Mhz digital scope which has been mentioned on the sci.electronics newsgroup.
