Default 12AD7???

hai guys ... i'm a newbie here!!
is there any one can help me with 12AD7 NEC tube ...
i'd like to make some guitar preamp with this tube.

IIRC, for all practical purposes it's a 12AX7.

An "*AX7" made for low microphonics and hum. Probably do well for a guitar pre.

Almost all of my 12AD7 came out of Japanese reel-to-reels.

ok, i see ... i get that tube from "rusty" TEAC reel-to-reels.
so, can i use that tube to make some guitar preamp ... or tube overdrive pedal??
