I posted this at AA but I know some of you are loathe to tread, so...
I removed the useless rubber base and glued 100 grit paper in it's place with dubl-stick tape, just as I do to the straightedge I use to register cuts in veneer. |

That will do... if your table surface is already looking used. I've had this problem too, while trying to clean the tip of my soldering iron, this thing was skipping all over my desk. I bet the most diverse solutions are being used for this problem!

Ao you use it to clean your soldering iron. Never heard of it, but makes sense!
