6C33C tube socket for GM70 tube??

Hello

Can I use 6C33C tube socket for GM70 tube.
Of course I will have to drill up the porcelain to feet for the GM70 legs.
Did anybody ever tried to use that?
Do the GM leads would match with the socket?
I ask these because only I found gold plated tube socket for 6C33C and not for the GM70.
And it is much cheaper!
Yes I know there are teflon tube socket but the price is not for me at least not now.
If anybody has experience with these please let me know.

If you have a chance to make more holes in porcelain, it is no problem with the use of the GM-70.

Go the original holes is in the right place.
I can make them larger but have to be same pin out the the 6C33 tube.
I look at the picture on the net and they are very similar sockets.
To make the holes larger that OK , but to drill a total new hole that is not OK.
Alter I have to replace the connectors etc.

New holes do not have enough increase in available. Contacts better to replace.

This is the BIG problema of the GM70 tube, it do not have a good socket as the 6C33 or the Americans big triodes.

If one had some suited lug connectors that fit the tube pins, a low price solution is use a big capacitor belt, it will lasts forever.
The teflon sockets had great sound effect, but a hot tube as the 6C33/GM70 run at 300ºC and after some years the Teflon will suffer.

If you have a mechanic friend, ask him carved collet contacts to GM-70 pins and insert them into the 6C33C socket.

I have a friend who makes jewelry, I have to talk to him about it.
The rhodium plated is really cheap, about $10 dollars a piece.

You can drill porcelain with either a tungsten carbide drill or a diamond coated one. Go steady, its not easy.

I guess you are asking because you already have septar sockets?

That cost over $50 2PC with shipping.
I can buy for $6 one of a local store the 6C33 socket, not gold plated.
Also I can buy on the eBay the gold plated version and still cheaper and probably would have better contacts.
I have special drill bit for glass.

My GM70 amp is working with 6c33c socket!
Just opend two holes a litle!
