Can anyone tell if it specifies forced cooling on this datasheet?
''GSTube.com''. Tubes, sockets etc. Parameters and characteristics 6P3C-1 I see that it says 2 x 20 W plate dissipation, but I'm skeptical that this envelope can handle 40W combined plate dissipation + G2 dissipation and filament power. It's small; comparable in size to common 20W rated tubes. I recently obtained a few boxes of mixed parts which contained a pair of these. Thinking of doing a pair of single output tube PP amps. |

Everything is correct, 2 x 20W

Not very reliable tube, make better use of its military analogue ГУ-19 (GU-19)

This tube /from link/ is 6R3S /6Р3С/. 6P3C-E /6П3С-Е/ is mono beam tethrode, close to 6L6.

GU-19 looks interesting. Seems like a direct swap. Maybe I'll run the 6P3C-1 for now and then replace them with GU-19 once they fail. It appears that GU-29/829B would also interchange if the socket were changed with it. |

GU-29 is very similar to GU-19, but I like more. See circuit diagram with the article http://lynxaudio.narod.ru/articles/Lynx_VTA39.pdf. Very interesting amp.
You can use the GU-19 (6R3S-1) |

As I get it, the 6R3S is very unreliable, whereas the transformers in the Priboi amp are overrated. The O/P trannies also are supposed to be used for the 4-tube 75W version of the amplifier.

I have a spare 6R3S that I want to use for a simple two tube amp in the future. Be careful when using/transcribing cyrillic letters as especially the Russian equivalent to 6L6 can easily be mistaken for the dual tetrode used in the Priboi amp.

Blast from the past, I still have 8 channels up and running, one of the amps has many, many hundred of hours on it and it still goes on. I used the GU-19 for a while and it works well at around -10V bias.
I think the most important is to keep the priboi bias really well balanced. |
