![]() I received my XPWR035 from Edcor yesterday and I was trying to hook it up with my finished tubelab SSE PCB. But I noticed that brown/white-brown/brown wires are sticking out along with black/black wires from the primary side. While on their webpage the picture as well as schematic shows that brown wires should be coming out along with red and yellow wires. Did Edcor worker(s) make mistake making this power tx? FYI Brown wires are supposed to 3.15v/3.15v secondary windings that go towards speaker output section on PCB. If you own this transformer then please tell me which side your brown wires are on.. I do not own this particular power transformer, however I do have other Edcor transformers. One of them has the filament wires coming out on the same side as the primary. Don't be concerned about this because sometimes they are just build this way. Electrically it's the same transformer.

Ohm it out. While i dont own that one, i have one were the whitebrown (heater ct) comes out of the primary side.
Get a multi meter. brown wires should be connected, as should all the other colors. No colors should connect with each other, other then the ct's of each color. Or you could just hook up (fused of course) to the wall and test all your leads before you hook it up to your shiny new $500 unit. switch the multi meter to ac; red should read above 740 brown should read over 6 yellow should read over 5 |
