A good tube for my SE 5K-8 OPT's

I have a set of Transcendar OPT's...

Those are the output transformers I used on my Tubelab Simple Single Ended amplifier. They are fantastic with triode strapped EL34, 6L6, or KT88 types.

Hi manta, nice amp.You might want to try running the 1625 cathode resistor directly to ground with the capacitor remaining as is. That way only AC goes through the secondary and you have no DC offset at the output terminals.

Thanks for that hint. That's a good idea, I didn't think that far. What I also wanted to do is DC coupling of the 6C8G but I hadn't enough Ub. Maybe it's time for a redesign now.

Thanks everybody. I picked up some 2A3s and filiment Tx's at a garage sale this weekend. So for now that's the direction I'll go.

The ideal primary for this and the other tubes mentioned is 2.5K-3.5K. On the 2A3 project I'm willing to give up a little power for the benifit of reduced distortion but I would still like to find a tube that could make better us of a 5K load line.
