A good tube for my SE 5K-8 OPT's

I have a set of Transcendar OPT's I bought to use in a SE 6BQ5 amp. Now I feel they may be over kill for 6BQ5's (I'm happy with the Edcor's) and I'm looking for another application.

Any suggestions?

. wats, core size, max current etc

The spec's are 10Watt, 100ma. Transcendar says both of these are consiverative.

300B SE would be sweet. Or 2A3. Or for the more budget conscious, a 6LU8 spud...

307A / VT-225 very good tubes for audio amplifiers

I made one hi-end SE amplifier with 307A and 10Y and it plays really good!!!

I also started one low budget tube amplifier with VT-225 valve but still didn't finish it

I use exactly those OPTs in my 1625/VT100 Amp. (same as 807;QE06/40;Г807)

Circuit is old fashioned but with local feedback. At least not mainstream like the boring 300B ;-)

Those are the output transformers I used on my Tubelab Simple Single Ended amplifier. They are fantastic with triode strapped EL34, 6L6, or KT88 types.

Hi manta, nice amp.You might want to try running the 1625 cathode resistor directly to ground with the capacitor remaining as is. That way only AC goes through the secondary and you have no DC offset at the output terminals.
