You would just have to check that the 0D3 current is not too high while the EL84s are warming up.
I've seen quite a few posts praising, to the sky, the combination of a constant current source (CCS) and a gas discharge regulator tube. If you set the CCS to just below the max. current the 0D3 allows, things will always be in order, provided the screen grids do not draw so much current that the 0D3 does get its necessary minimum. Naturally, the B+ rail has to be "tall" enough to operate the CCS and cause the 0D3 to "strike".
