Default wich to chose

I wan to start in tube by making some guitare effect and i found some interesting stuff at parts express.

I've seen some electro harmonix

12ax7 and 12at7

do you think these would be good tube for newbie.

Also wath would you use for the power suplies.(mainly in term of transformer)
