Im tiying to decide on my output setup for my new build. Im not designing it beforehand Im just starting at the power supply and moving on. My power supply puts out 570v not loaded and consisits of a 370-0-370v 190ma PT with a GZ33 rectifire tube....Anyway I'm looking at my options for power tubes. I'm thinking parallel 6L6 se per side or push pull 6L6. The OT's I have are 2k to 16ohm SE 25W and 6.5k to 8ohm pp 15W. Given I will have quite a high B+ and fixed bias what should I go for? Parallel se or pp. Or should I consider a diferent power tube KT88 maybe. What would be the better option for power? Looking for some guidelines.
Thanx! Mario. |

The 15 W. 6.5 KOhm primary/8 Ω secondary will work OK with triode wired 7591s. The PT lacks the "stones" needed to energize a 7591 stereoblock. However, that PT would be just fine working into a choke I/P filter and energizing a stereoblock using "12" W. O/P tubes.
