There is a new model from Yaqin MC10-T and uses four 12AT7 with output still EL34B. How good is the sound of 12AT7 compare to 6N1?

....better. /6,3 v heating of 12AT7 is - short between 4 and 5 pins. Heating wires are between 9 pin and 4 and 5 pins. For 6N1 - 6,3 v between 4 and 5, not for 12 v/

Thanks for the info... much appreciated, how many hours is needed to break-in a new vacuum tubes..is it true that 12AT7 has a better low frequency response and low noise but at high frequencies is weaker?

Some times.....20-30 years, if the mode is not close to max. power plate...
12AT7 covers all HI-FI band, like 6N1P.

Hi.. can you suggest what best vaccum tube part no. with better sound as direct replacement for 6N1P?

Try Tesla ECC85 or Tesla or JJ, E88CC. Moc dobry.

Anybody there have tried the russian tubes.. are they better sounding specially the 6N1P-EV or EB series with OTK markings...

No. LF response is set by the circuit, not the valve. 12AT7 works OK up to VHF radio frequencies, so any HF weakness is due to the circuit. 12AT7 can be non-linear, as it was intended for RF mixing, so need to use carefully. If the circuit designer knew what he was doing then it will be fine.

Hi azazello, for 6N1P pin 9 is a shield should I connect this to gnd or just open connection?
