Hi,
I am about to build a phono stage and basically narrowed choice down to Cornet2 from Hagtech and PH-11 (or maybe PH-12) from Vacuum Tube Audio. tried to look around for feedback on those Vacuum Tube Audio designs, but could not find much as they are pretty now; lots of very good feedback on Cornet2. Was wondering if there is someone that might be able to help with advice; the cost for both options looks to be pretty much the same. At the moment I am using MM, but looking to upgrade to MC in the future; I guess all of those will need a step-up transformer or something like Hagtec Picolo to accomodate MC. |

Got a link to Vacuum Tube Audio.
My only exposure to the Cornet was a buddies build of it. He wasn't very satisfied with it. I preferred my other buddies RCA phono stage with over the top power supply dave

Hah! Isn't that the guy who did reviews of ST-70 mods for Audio Amateur and failed to mention that the mod he gave the highest marks to... was the one he was selling?
Looking through his website, he seems to take a similar view about using other people's trademarks.

One and the same. That article dealt a serious blow to the credibility of Glass Audio from which Ed Dell had a difficult time recovering.

I think the ST-70 driver board he sells on ebay is the exact VTL circuit copy.

I'd want to see a schematic before even thinking about it.
