Default MC240 found in a shed.

Here is a poor MC240 someone left out in their shed for years. It's dirty, neglected but intact.

Now tell us you even checked its Sylvanias on a tube tester and they hit 100% emission, to call you double lucky. Nice find.

Absolute precious find.........now the tricky part, separating the rusty chassis from the sub-components. Get a top quality multi-layer automotive type paint job....back together, a recap....then onto the tubes.
We all expect glorious photos once done............OK?

Anyone every successfully remove the labels from the tops of the transformers? I want to sand them smooth, prime and paint. Will a single edge razor work slid under the label? Would applying some heat from a hair dryer help any?

That is one excellent find. Someday maybe I will be so lucky.

Heat will help get the labels off but you have to be really careful.
