Why not ? For best implementation of that circuit , octal tubes such as 6SN7
could be used . Lower and upper tubes would need separate filament supply ,possibly DC regulated ,and the upper one needs also a reference to B+. Major importance should be given to the power supply section ...which 'sounds' and can be detected as the 'line preamp' circuit . http://www.webalice.it/jlc891/schemiprechf43.htm |

Nah, Personally--I dont like it!
Be better to do a Proper Mu stage, maybe with mosfet on top or a Pentode.... Dont like the ECC82 either, Nasty little things IMO.... |

Hello All !
![]() I'd recommend a scheme (circuit) for the "High-End Preamplifier with ECC82" or ECC83 ![]() Thanks |

It's kind of easier to recommend circuits without ECC82 or ECC83

Why bother a tube preamp your source is also solid state.
Only use of tube pre-stage is for a turntable IMO, then from source there is no solid-state involved. And in when stage the tube preamp design becomes high-end?

ECC82's can sound good in a mu follower topology, I can post a schematic if you're interested. |
