I'm not sure if I could spend $45 on a new-issue Genelex when I can get a real NOS Mullard for $30. I am, of course, taking a pessimistic view of what is behind the Genelex branding. As a consumer, my views on that subject in general tend to be rather negative.

In my opinion, the very best is also one of the cheapest. Antique Electronics Supply has Sylvania 6060 at $9.50. They are made by Brimar and beat anything I've used. Low distortion, long lasting and reliable.
