Testing 6BQ5 on Hickok I-177B

Hello, all. I have happened to acquire a hand-made socket adapter which came with my used B&K 500, which allows me to test the 6BQ5 or EL84 on the B&K 500. The adapter is inserted to the octal socket of the tester to test 6BQ5s. I also have a Hickok I-177B, which, as many of you know, does not have a 9 pin socket. Using this adapter, is there a way to test 6BQ5s on the I-177B? If so, what is the setting for the tube? Please help! Your kind advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

How is the adapter connected?
I have made adapters from the Nolan Lee file. With that I can test the 6BQ5 in an octal socket on my Hickok AC51X.

Hi! Thank you, jonwin45 for your response. As the inside of the adapter is filled with silicon-like solid matter, I cannot confirm the connection of the adapter. However, I suppose the connection should be the same as that introduced in Mr. Lee's site, which I also find very useful.
May I ask one another thing? Have you made the adapter to test 12at7 as introduced in Mr. Lee's site? As I am a novice, I find it difficult to make sense of the diagram that is in the Excel file which I downloaded from Mr. Lee's site. Can you help me figure out how to connect the 9 pin socket and the Octal socket for 12AT7, as introduced by Mr. Lee, if you have made the adapters? I would appreciate your kind help.

With a digital multimeter you can check how your adapter is built and compare to the Lee ones.

Yes, I have made the adapters #5 and #6 for 9 pin noval tubes, one for each triode side. You find a specification on the adapters on the "Adapters" page of the i177_108.xls file.

I would think that you would need to find an octal based output tube with the same operating characteristics of the 6BQ5/EL84 tube. An example would be the 6V6 octal based tube. It has the same operating characteristic of the 6AQ5 7 pin tube. You may not be able to test your 6BQ5 tubes with that particular tube tester.
