Tone control - good diagram needed

Hello

Did someone do Tube Pre Amplifier with Tone Control Schematic Diagram Adrian Angka Weblog

Is this working good? I'm looking for some tone control (tube or very good silicon one) for my DIY tube amplifier (PP 4 x EL34). It sound so perfect that for most of CDs it's not needed

so I will add PURE DIRECT switch to be able turn off tone control.
But sometimes it's needed

Really good tone controls are not particularly simple. The attached Max Robinson design is "unity" gain. However, 4X 12AX7s just for stereo tone controls is (IMO) OTT. You can simply the signal path and reduce the bottle count by replacing the cap. coupled cathode followers with DC coupled ZVN0545A source followers.

WHat do you think about silocone tone control for tube amplifier? Step by step there is lower and lower space for another things. Could you suggest some very good diagram (PCB is welcome).
