6AC7EH Better but different
A few days ago I revived four matched 6CA7EH although they were not perfectly matched and needed careful set up . They are a pleasant surprise.
On the test bench they were able to handle 145 ma cathode current without complaint (493 Vdc). This is not a recommended test. I am hoping to build a data sheet as none is forthcoming form EH They tested very linear and have a sparkel that is refreshing .They replaced EL34Ls from a well know supplier that I will not hurt for no reason. I can recommend them to anyone wanting a more flat 5khz to 30khz. Performance of couse is dependent on many other amp considerations. I was able to log 10hz to 40Kz -3db at 15 Watts I hope this helps David |
