I tried the good ol light tapping with the palm of my hand, and that worked for a while, the the tube shorted again.
The filament fused to the grid, not good ..To no avail I could not get it to work. Then I put it in a spare tube tester and gradually increased the voltage on the filament, then shazam... the short was released and the tube tests at 85% in the good range. I figured what do I have to lose since the tube was not working in the first place. Now amp works fine again. For how long, no idea, just watching and listening. ![]() As always, mltube |
